About a sailor who lost himself,
When his ship sank.
We found him lying on our shore.
He walked straight into the village shop,
Purchased a pair of winkles,
Then tap danced out the door.
He was proud of the name we gave him,
He thought it was the best.
He tap danced home to show us,
The day he had it tattooed on his vest.
No one has ever heard him speak,
This we know is true.
Anything he tries to tell us,
He tap dance's in his shoes.
In our open barn house,
He was allowed to stay.
All that tap dancing
Through the night,
Frightened the mice away.
Everyone seemed to like him,
He was very good to us.
It was the bus conductor,
That got annoyed the day,
He tap danced on the bus.
He says he's very happy since,
All the kindness he's been showed.
This he tries to tell us,
While tapping out Morse code.
He doesn't know where he came from,
He doesn't remember where he's been.
But he is almost very certain that,
He tap danced before the queen.
He'd traveled most extensively,
Across the sea and open land.
Keeping away from all the deserts,
He never ever found out how,
To tap dance in the sand.
One day this creature came upon us,
Mr Perry Winkle came between.
While we were sitting on that shore,
He tapped up a storm.
A wave came over both of them,
Mr Perry Winkle was no more.

When his ship sank.
MR PERRY WINKLE PART 1
That's what we called him since the day,We found him lying on our shore.
He walked straight into the village shop,
Purchased a pair of winkles,
Then tap danced out the door.
He was proud of the name we gave him,
He thought it was the best.
He tap danced home to show us,
The day he had it tattooed on his vest.
No one has ever heard him speak,
This we know is true.
Anything he tries to tell us,
He tap dance's in his shoes.
In our open barn house,
He was allowed to stay.
All that tap dancing
Through the night,
Frightened the mice away.
Everyone seemed to like him,
He was very good to us.
It was the bus conductor,
