Short and sweet. After years by her side, she's decided to walk away.

Good-bye

So long it has been
since I've picked up this pen,
or really felt loved by you.

Your touch was gentle
and your tone sentimental,
but judged now am I in your eyes.

I cared and shared
and opened up to you,
even grew a feeling.

But now you say,
seems everyday,
you don't know me or what to say.

You went away
and here I stayed,
waiting for your return.

But our first embrace
became a race,
as I felt you step away.

So I suppose
that as love grows,
it also slips away.

I hide my eyes
and refuse to cry,
for what I let slip away.
