Untied
Trapped in a desireThat will never come true
A mouth full of promises assail her
Promises she dared not envision
Because life had taught her better
There's plenty of time to keep her near
Oh, she's the only one who stays
Trapped in a dream
Embroidered for her
With paralyzing promises and expectations
Affirmations she couldn't confess to herself
Because life had taught her better
There's plenty of time to keep her near
Oh, she's the only one who stays
An untied thread should come undone someday
And that dream will fade away
Then
learn to weave your own.
