a vantaged perch
a train of wisteria blooming along
a sleepy length of hewn rock wall
where pigeons balanced astride
unhurried in their crooning pride
whereupon a gabled window spy
all manner of way no man may hide
when come each setting sun confide
on queries revealing light shall fall
to whom those truant thoughts belong
