An Angler’s Day
Casting upstream
The current easing
Bait along the bed
To tease the perch
That hunger for
The minnow used
To hide the hook
Embedded within
They are wily but
Hunger craves
This passing morsel
Dulling caution
Easing risk of
The needle sharp
Tip that snares
The mouth painless
But incapacitating
In an instant caught
Hoisted in shock
To be manhandled
To a water filled
Bucket there to
Share with others
A fate of feast
At the end of
An angler’s day
