The Grief Pin

The fifteen-year-old,
who prayed
for her prince charming
with such earnestness,
cries over the demise of the life
she thought she would have.

The twenty-year-old
couldn't deal with it.
Put a pin in it
and now
the thirty-year-old pin
comes undone.

I don't know
what to say to you
when you apologise.
Cos it's not ok.
I don't forgive you.
It hurts!

There's an allotment of tears
for every heartbreak
and I wasn't done
crying over you.

So at fifty,
I allot time to grieve
the life I thought
I would have.

'There's a n allotment of tears for every heartbreak' Such a good line, and my feeling is that once filled the heart should heal.

Keep going!

Grief is a part-time job. The real work, the hard work, comes in mining joy~

That's what I thought as I read your words~
