Young love sucks!

I WANTED YOU!

I wanted you…
The hand that softly lay in mine.
The kiss that devoured my lips
And sucked the breath from my world.
The breast pliant and proud beneath my hand
Trembling in desire, impatient to feel…
I wanted you.

I told you that…
My voice silenced and unneeded.
My lips dried with excitement.
My heart beating like a tom-tom.
My fingers tapping out a veiled message
Leaving you to decide whether to hear.
I told you that.

I remembered…
And refuse to believe you don’t.
Across the seas my words sailed
Without a ship, without a sail.
Zoomed across your desert, over the fields,
And even though you clicked upon delete,
I remembered.

I needed you…
For God’s sake don’t you understand?
I was wrong when I said solong…
When I kissed your lovely hand
And pulled it to me one last final time
Slipping it up me, to my crutch…
I needed you… so much.

Why, oh why, did you say it?

I read this with a warm glow...lovely, erotic. Great stuff.

Sorry...Teacher mode now...
PS 'Laid' should really be 'lay', I believe, as 'Laid' is the transitive verb and needs an object. xx

I permitted myself a chuckle at your description/summary! A well-made poem about a theme that never grows old.

Young love sucks? Would have rather gone without?

A wonderful tribute to pain.

A fine description of young love's terrible intensity.
