I've had them for what?
At least three weeks!
They have been on the rack
waiting for the right time..
A pair of New Balance 574's
In brown and tan leather.
They have waited patiently
(after my trying them on)
Partly because of the weather -
Can there actually be
Any more rain up there?
But today, they finally took
To the streets of old Bergerac.
Passing shop windows reflecting
Our images and how they look.
Like gloves upon my feet!
So I was casually walking
With my Lady by my side
and couldn't help but say,
"I'm walking on air today!"
