KITTI'S WORDS

Kitti came today.
Backpack full.
Pencil tucked
Behind her ear
Shorthand pad
Opened up
For me to read.
Her words were
Really very sad;
Tears washed up
On Love's beach.
After reading
I looked up...
She was gone,
Shadow receeding

Out of reach.

I think she's dead.
All that's left
Are her words
Inside my head.
The only proof
That she existed.
They echo,
Like mine,
Diminishing
For ever.

sad story, is it an imaginary love, but it must have existed? somehow, you could be taken for a fool...it is always the risk with love poems...
