wip

eat at nothing

Breathe you in deep to catch the air of May
When the moment was ours to hold, to keep
What rain dare fall to wash what's clean again
Twill never fade; true time, it speaks in tongues
There is no crueler fate than to forget
To wilt into ourselves seeking comfort
Blinded by our own need to stand, bare proof
How tall does one need to be whole, complete
I took joy in leaning on your shoulder
Knowing you could feel safe enough to care
Maybe the sun got brave, scolded like kids
Summer was the whispered assassin here
To place the blame will produce no flavor
I will take what is left, eat at nothing
