February 18, 2025.
even a mere breath apart.
When our cold hands intertwine,
I can only focus on what air seeps through the cracks.
In visions, I see you before we met,
when I am sure you dreamed bigger,
Stood taller, like some shore lighthouse.
But now, you take the knee so easily to get on my level.
But just because you’re on one knee
does not mean you know what it’s like
to be down on both,
planted on solid concrete.
Just because we are speaking freely
with words pouring out on tap
does not mean we are in perfect sync;
It is all just noise when no one is listening.

a mere breath apart
I will still feel the distance, even a mere breath apart.
When our cold hands intertwine,
I can only focus on what air seeps through the cracks.

Stood taller, like some shore lighthouse.
