Before his op.
I've seen that look before,
Like the one,
On the little boy's face,
As they dragged him
Away,
And led him
To the furnace.
That look of
Helplessness,
That look,
That broke,
My heart.
I've seen that look before,
On the faces of the
Babes on T.V.
Staring and starving,
Before our empty eyes.
I've seen that look before,
That terrible,
Pleading look,
When you know,
There is no more.
That this is your
Last glimpse of life,
Your last chance,
To say goodbye.
I've seen that look before.
