To my Professor

To Sir, with Love

I like it
that you made us
all sit around on chairs
in a circle
facing you
with tea cups in our hands
sipping from it
and picking on each other brains
talking and discussing on the subject
given to us beforehand
with you listening to us
after throwing open the discussion
for us to make our points
on it.

I love it
that you made us think
and i owe it you
that in the process I learnt
-how to think.

It was as if
i would open a window
in my mind
each time
i was in your company
in the class.

Those windows
are still open
always letting in
the fresh breeze
from faraway lands
and nearby books.

Just today
i chanced upon
to sit by one of the window sil
and have a look
inwards, of course.

Oh! it is so beautiful and serene
and fertile
The scene before me-
Yes, inside me.

My comment is an empty room without walls or ceiling, the horizon not curving.

Or, I could say: YOU just opened a window on me, where I can sit an measure and un-measure me.
