And soon after i wrote- i could roam the world but i'd sit only with you, in silence or any which way.

the reason
for your eyes shut
I assumed
it was from a late night,
which it might have been, as well
as you indeed had one.
But you smiled
and shook a no
while i looked befuddled
as, indeed they would
shut and open,
twice, i believe
But i get it now,
the reason for your
closed eyes.
These aligned with mine.
Just one last time,
as we sat down
in separate rows
you caught me
in your frame
and held me within
with eyelids over your eyes.
