BABINDEN BY ANN WOOD

Happy Babinden!
Today is the day midwives celebrate, but years ago, according to an old custom, the oldest woman in the village would be the midwife to the young women in labor.
And that's where the name Babinden comes from!
The belief is that on this day the whole village goes to the grandmother's house and brings gifts.
Happy holiday, dear grandmothers and midwives, be healthy and well.
