the pigeons
There is the racing pigeon, that one gets a nice retirement and wonderful female pigeons because it has earned a lot of money for its owners. Then, there is the pigeon used to feed others—that one is fat and good.
And finally, the pigeon that is useless because it is sick—definitely not to be fed to others, as it could make them sick... that one, we burn.
Winston Churchill once said that the entrepreneur was often treated as society’s milk cow—the beast of burden that pulls the plow. In my own modest way, I meant the same thing: they’re the plump, generous pigeon, fattened only to feed the rest.
