Yesterday I sat in my garden and watched a wonder of nature and it helped mend a heartache

The Humming Bird Hawk Moths by M.A.Meddings

Like time warp travellers
They came to my world
Dancing on the Summer time blue
Of the lavender
Not one of them
But two
Hovering, darting, testing
tasting the nectar from
This neglected haven
Overgrown world of yesterdays
Heartaches
And in the evening of my love
They brought wonder and peace
The Humming bird Hawk Moths

Mike, this is a very vivid poem with the description of the lavender and the "overgrown world of yesterdays." I looked up this humming bird hawk moth because I had never seen one. What a beautiful sight! Sometimes when we look at the beauty that surrounds us or that comes to visit us in nature, our hearts are lifted for a while and we understand that life can still be good, even when it seems our hearts are broken. This poem brings a bit of healing to a ailing heart. Beautiful work. xx kathy

"Not one of them
But two"

That line struck me as wonderful. I loved the imagery and emotions in this one. Very beautiful, Michael. You haven't failed me yet. =)
