about the process of writing
I hold in my hand
In a tripod grip, entirely unconventional
Correction attempted so often in years
But failing, transfixed mischievously
This pen
That pushes against one finger always
Callous building
That can't be torn down
Just stops progress occasionally
This pen
Gliding smooth along the page
Making bad technique look worse
Ink so easily spread
With just one drop of water
This pen
So often drawing cries of praise
From those who must borrow
To leave their mark, to sign
Isn't it so wonderful
This pen
That makes fluid thoughts concrete
That creates lines and loops
That draws from the well of my mind
Makes secrets spoken
And art dance
