Duende is a sensuous feeling of thrill that Aficianados of Flamenco get few times in a life time. It describes the magic moment when the music strikes the soul. Just like falling in love. This poem uses my imaginary foolishness to describe that feeling.

Duende by M.A.Meddings

I see you again in street side cafes
Along the Avenue Du Conquistador
And as Alegrias por Roseas echoes
To Aficianados round applause
I speak your name
Catarina Virragas gypsy fire
For In dreams I hear rattled Zapatado
As you Dance the wild fandagos of Huelva
And I see your twirling wirling joy
In delicate hand display of the Sevillanas
But in the vibrant toque y rasquedo
I find the thrill of you equal to the music
Then murmur my soft 'Ole and gentle 'Juaraga'
Thus within this life I find again in you
Duende

With what a wonderful and perfect flow your words fall into my heart .. and there comes the sense of Duende ...

that moment when body and soul meet and become one ....

a very beautiful text filled with passion and an awe for the truth in the magic of art, music, dance, love of course and ... well in short LIFE

I love this one .... bookmarked

You have me doing internet searches for some of these words and I think I have pulled this together. The feel of this is the feel of the dance of which you speak, the magic sometimes haunting spirit that invades and lifts and controls with wild passion. I just kept seeing the dance in my head. The passion of that dance. The beat, the rhythm, the heat of the dance. At least that's what I felt. :) kathy

Beautiful and vibrant text, hero!
Music and love are two basic ingredients of life
(Hmm... I should have learned how to dance flamenco...)
