Hippophobia- Fear of horses

Going to the county fair

With a childlike smile on

My face

I want to ride the bumper cars

I want have a caramel apple

I want to see cows, pigs, and cats

I see some children nearing the 4-H building

Pigs, cows, and chickens..a few goats

I decide to go inside there as well

I guess that was a mistake..

Inside I see a terrible beast

With eyes the colour of coal

It is brushing the flies away

With the wirey tail

And for just a moment..

This..horse

Is looking into my soul

Laughing at me

For being afraid

Showing me..his yellow teeth

He lurches forward..

I know he wants to take me down

I take off running, as fast as I can..

Running to my car..

I stop for a moment and look

He is nowhere to be seen

I have lost my childlike smile
