This poem is for Jim Cudlip my fishing companion for 20 years. He died this year in February and as the Lammas Salmon come back to the Welsh Dee I remember him
Salmon run
And you no more
Just your ghost
Watching me
On Bryn Howel shore
Wading deep the run
To 'Big bear country'
This will be my last season here
Just haven't the will to come again
With you not there
And if the water
Stays up right
Seven hundred just the height
I will cast one last line for you
A subtle Ginger shrimp
And true
Beneath the large Alder
Along the tail of
Dol- Y- Sau
