Sam...
don't let me lose you

The Warmth of You

"Love is like the sun coming out of the clouds and warming your soul"- unknown

"The eruption of lived pleasure is such that in losing myself I find myself; forgetting that I exist, I realise myself"- Raoul Vaneigem

I can still taste your lips
on mine, feel your hand
Reach for the spaces between knuckles
So our fingers intertwine
Like a tapestry tight

Your thumb traces lines
along the curve of my jaw
As your palm cups my cheek,
Fingers walking up my neck
To brush gently upon my ear

My heart is trying to
escape the cage of my chest,
And i feel it pounding,
Wonder if you feel vibrations
Pulsing through my veins

You pause to rest your forehead on mine,
Brush our noses back and forth,
Mouth and eyes smiling
Before leaning back in
To take my breath away.

My head is occupied solely with you
I feel immune to thought,
Suspended upon wings of joy,
Escaping abstract time
For here infinite moments abound
And i'm lost within the warmth of you.

Warmth is both a sensual and confusing feeling. You both warm each other in this poem and I believe nobody is going anywhere anytime soon
