The inquisitors passion for the Ancient mariner and listening to Chris Rea in the car this morning, 'The Road to hell' reminded me that we all have visions of gloom. Dark I warn you

The Road To Hopelessness by M.A.Meddings

Out on a lonesome highway
Shambling in walking dreams
I see two converging lines
So far out on distant scenes
And along each lined roadside verge
Are the scattered Flotsam
Of discarded schemes

And as I walked I saw a solitary figure
That of a chrone just skin and bone
Who asked of me
'where are you bound'
And I no answer found replied
'I am journeying ancient one
To the far horizan to the land of hope'
Where upon she informed

'Aren' t though man or be it fool
Do you know the rule
whence upon you achieve your goal
On yon horizan
You are not there
Your mind to bare for the truth to see
There is no hope on this road for thee
Since this is, the road to Hopelessness'

Phyllis J. Rhodes
I want to sit down in the middle of that road, grab my knees, bow my head and rock back and forth in the hopeless darkness. Somewhere then after a time, from a dimly lit place in my mind, I want to pull myself up and realize I am yet on a road and not in a ditch. Roads go two ways and I still have a choice. One is less and one is full.

Such a sad and lonely poem. Finding you are on the wrong road, heading towards the antithesis of his goal, is devastating. Turn around, step off that road, move through and around the wreckage and continue on until you find the right road. You will become wiser, stronger, and eventually reach your goal. Do whatever it takes to reach your desired distination. Then share your widom with others directing them to the road that leads to the land of Hope. Thank the chrone for she was there as one who was helping you for she must have traveled that road all the way to the end and came back to tell you. There is hope in that too. Now began your journey anew and always listen to guides along your way. As long as you are traveling, searching, listening, learning, there is hope and perhaps the Land of Hope is in the Journey. Beautifully written poetry Mike! xx Kathy

You can really tell a tale and conjure up an atmosphere of gloom!
"Strangely uplifting" says the guy with inquisitorial name, and I agree wiith that
