Observations from a day spent at the beach.
Stalk their children on the baking sand.
They provide detailed instruction
on the correct way to be a British holiday maker.
When asked
they exhibit superior knowledge of tidal systems,
and sea temperatures.
Giving both lengthy and detailed answers.
All usually wrong.
Children take this with a pinch of sand
look up, eyes squinting in the sun
and continue
with castles, paddling, swims
with general sand based activity
without correct knowledge of tidal systems.
It doesn't really matter though.
