Picking Tomatoes

Picking Tomatoes

I pick tomatoes.
I pick 'em in the sun.
I pick them and eat them
One by one.
They are so good, so good you see
Good for you and good for me.
I grow tomatoes
In the soil I turned.
I grow them and pick them
and eat them
It's fun!
I pick them in the summer
and early fall.
I share them with family
One and all.
I love tomatoes
Especially home grown
I love the tomatoes
That I have raised and own.
The smell of the earth
The plants
The fruit
The feel of the earth
The leaf
and root.
The sun shinning above
Thaks to God on my tongue
For blessing me with food
And a chore I love.

I can taste them now, picking and popping those just ripe cherry ones in my mouth and letting them explode with all their sweet juiciness!

wonderful images. You touched the senses with great intensity here. I also love the taste of the fresh homegrown tomatoes. Delightful and pleasurable read, dearest Jessica. :) kathy
