i was coming back from a bike ride to the beach, trying to clear my head, when i passed a guy with 'cuban economy' written on the back of his shirt. i still to this day don't know if my mind was playing tricks

Cuban Economy

"In the province of the mind, what one believes to be true either is true or becomes true"
-John Lilly

That wasn't how it usually goes.
Breaking the habit isn't all bad
Habits are made to be broken.

So I was coming back from
A joyride, up the street and back
Drawn by the water magnet

The hill looming as
Forty over I flew
But the other side wasn't so blue

The grass may not always be greener,
But the mind is fooled into believing
And escapism kicks in

I'm sure that's what it said,
The tee of material, police-like,
With those letters scrawled

Double back, re-trace my steps
Or pedal pushes, as it may be
With both hands attempting to handle the wheel

Then the descent began
Around corners meandering,
Negotiating the tyranny

You were fixing the spoke in your wheel.

negotiating the tyranny...

we are bound i think... by things we believe so blindly, things and people we put our faith and trust in...

this is a tyrannical world.
