where the treetops touch the sky

Where the treetops touch the sky
and the leaves never reach the ground
the birds will forever fly
and never land a single time
the wind lets the branches scrape
cotton candy from the clouds
while sugar-sweet strawberries reach
for the living sunbeams

Time passes but little change
in a place
where the treetops reach the sky
the magic is not bound with time
nothing's old
and nothing's young
and when dawn has to give up
to the clear night air
The flowers hide inside themselves
while cotton candy from the treetops
falls over them
like a last kiss
from winter's cold lips
