some secrets live on forever

Cupcake

Next to the exotic magnet sits
A primary objective of my love.
Did the gooey, liquid-filled chocolate serve to melt?
Thoughts of you do that to me

Indulge in what you cannot have
And take the next best thing
But after a while, the truth will come out.
That is why we own so many masks.

I know I should focus,
but to not write about you would be
trapping the CO2 within the carbonated drink
These emotions should not be bottled, nor shipped off for sale.

So much could I say about you,
But I mustn't, for fear you will discover my secret
You are not mine, nor will never be,
Yet you persist, as the veins in my blood.
