anyone for some Shakespear?
*** It has been brought to my attention, that I did poor Ophelia an injustice by spelling her name incorrectly*** I have made the correction*that's what I get for writitng a 3 a.m. and not editing
then madness upon her head did rain
Her would be lover out of his head
Sent Ophelia to her watery bed
A wreath of flowers she did weave
As this world she did leave
"To a nunnery" he told her to go
to save her from such pain and woe
His cryptic words she did not heed
instead remaind to her father's plead
Not knowing of her lover's plot
Not knowing it's the truth he sought
Behind a curtain he did hide
That is how her father died
At the hand of her lover he did go
Trying to hear what he would know
Poor girl she could not stand
to see him die at her lover's hand
Away she went into the deep
The queen and court how they did weep
Away he was that loving Dane
When Ophelia ended her mind's pain
At the grave site he did meet
The lowly digger at his feet
Not knowing the tragic events that did occur
He came back wishing and hoping for her
Standing in the dirt that day
He found that he must pay
The girls brother demanded right
So the Dane was bound to a fight
A tangled tapestry he did weave
When the king did first deceive
Now brother and friend face to face
Holding swords to settle the case
One tipped in death the other in pain
What a trap they had set to silence the Dane
The fight did ensue one at the other
just like the guilt and the Dane's mother
A toast the king cried there's credit to be paid
But at that moment a mistake was made
The Queen took the cup intended for naught
and toasted at how well her son had fought
Woefullly the Queen cried out "the drink"
to the cold floor she did sink
Death took her breath and the king's fate
Hamlet did unleash his fury and hate
Yet the the poison was shared equally that day
Brother and Dane both did swoon and sway
Ophelia taken by the water she swallowed
Hamlet died from the madness he borrowed
"Good night sweet prince" Ophelia awaits
She is standing with roses at heaven's gates
