A chance remark in a PM from a poet on this site set me on this track.

I Will Send Her Roses by M.A.Meddings

Ah! those faded memories of yesteryear
and the dreams of her that I hold dear
In the summer long of my reverie
When I found a love that could not be
Yet in dreams I see her beauty still
And the love I felt never will
Die within this heart of mine
For a slice is hers 'til the end of time
And I will send her roses
The tender thing I do
To prove to her for ever
This love is always true

Arti
She will know, wont she?
Immune to red roses
She just cannot be...

Faded memories will revive
In color, and a newborn
Sweetness, tender, will thrive...
