Ris...once my best bud
If none of us are happy
than how can we agree
If this what you really thought
you're life was going to be?
Somehow I don't think so.
I think deep down that you
Thought I'd never leave
The co-dependence feeding us
Still you couldn't believe
I'd always stay
Blinded by self-pity
It was me to whom you turned
But what about when I need you?
That's when I was burned
How did the fire stop?
People have asked me about you,
So just what should I say?
That we've both seen a version of the truth
And then you walked away?
I don't even know what happened.
All I know is nothing
That you occupy holes in my mind
That I try to keep on filling
It hurts to leave our history behind
But what else is there
When I see our seat on the bus
I smell your house, its spices
I pass our favourite eatery
See your handwriting on prices
Numbers now foreign
Mouths still moving silently
And I'll be here waiting
For the day you know you need me once more,
When the stars re-align
