Tender caring

Words by M.A.Meddings

Words
That drop like gentle rain
Onto opened shields of dark umbrellas
Deflected out and come again
to haunt the heart and yet retain
A modicum of all they say
As even they will fall away
And yet sustain the living thing
The one true love that I can bring
Into this tenderness
No more or less
Words that since unheard
Now release the captive bird
So she can fly on restored wings
And so do my emotions sing
Please come back again whene'er
You want to

Gentle, sweet words from a free bird!
I listen carefully to the language of wings...
And i will return. I will.

This reads like music. It played my heart. I read it over and over. Its gentle melody soothed me.

This, hero, is to be considered one of your very best poems. I like all of them, but this one should be put inside a the golden frame of the heart.

you exude gentleness in this beautiful piece. You spoke of tending to the captive bird until she could fly free again. Giving freedom is truly an act of love and friendship. Then always offering a welcome and open arms is truly tender care. :) kathy
