Famine United
You shovel in food like it's sand
Able to be mined, digging deep
Through rubble,
Through layers of moss and grass
To stone below,
Touching what should not have been touched
Building piles of rocky waste
While nearby ravines litter land
Where power has gone way too far
And no amount of chains nor ladders
Can bring the culprits to the surface.
Morality's a pit of air
Images roll by on screens
For guilt to settle in the privileged
But will justice be rebalanced
Will those in need receive?
Hunger, satiety, side by side
Forever letting pain ring out
