i was distracted whilst studying...
The fourth wall
Three panels around me,
Dead now but once living
Rows of lights I'm waiting to fall
Asymmetrical squares,
Extending, paddocks in the sky
An aerial view upside down
A stockmarket with no shares
Goes on and on and on
Sheath of glass keeping an eye,
Reflecting a thousand thoughts,
A narcissistic song
Strip of black marking the edge,
A marker, leading to white,
Lineated, stopped in its track
This water needs no lemon wedge
Enough bite, light and tangy,
Ingrained in the smooth raises
Forever pointing down, or around
Leading to an end uncanny
Into the well you fall
Like the pale moon shaking hands with the stars,
The grey plaster peering through white paint,
Caged by this fourth wall.
