This was a first date after my first wife and I divorced. It is an old poem written in 1982 and the affair lasted 3 weeks. Such is life.

On love at Marlborough by M.A.Meddings An entry to Saga challenge

I thought of you in Marlborough town,
in the tea shop by the church,
and saw face, and heard your voice,
then found your winning smile,
In Marlborough town.

I walked with you in Marlborough town,
In the April of the year,
and held your hand, then heard you laugh,
and saw your lovely eyes,
In Marlborough town.

In Marlborough town I fell in love,
in the tea shop by the church,
and kissed your hands, your eyes, your mouth,
then found a lovely dream,
In Marlborough town.

Mike:

I thoroughly enjoyed this poem. It was fun, very vibrant, and I could feel the real sense of a new love and passion for one person. I really enjoyed the rythm in this piece; I really enjoyed the setting. Is Marlborough in England? Which parish is it located in? I would like to know. Also, is this town or city located in or near The Moors, or the Midlands? As someone who is British but was raised in Canada, I'm always interested in these things. Take care, and I hope to hear from you soon.
