This acrostic came to me in a moment of sad recall as I looked at old wedding photographs from long ago. Warning it is dark

Dream Time Dancers by M.A.Meddings

Like the dream time dancers
On  Aspen avenues
Simple thoughts turn
To the long road

Where the discarded Gypsies
Of my memories
Unleash their retribution
Nightly in  films I am forced to watch
Desultry sultry maidens
Enthralled for me to see
Dance in  naked  yearning

Resolved to whisky glasses
Endless questions why
Vainly did I love  you when all  my hope was gone
Entreated you for half a life why did you go
Answers in these empty rooms
Lest I fear were none
Endless repeated heartaches had yet
Destroyed the man

Bowed at heart but not dead yet
Ever would I be
And if you think I could forget
The way he tortured me
Enduring all for the love of you
Nineteen Eighty three

Wow. That is some powerful write. Good job dealing with whatever is past... and haunting.

The sadness in this poem, like a heavy fog, envolpes me. Sometimes love hurts so deeply that we never forget. xx kathy

There is so much sorrow and still burning love in these lines! Wonderfully expressed!
