I won't make this mistake

This Can't Wait

I'd like to tell the story of
a boy who left his home
His tale is very saddening
and this story is his roam.

He lost his way and made a choice
to explore what was unknown
but with his pick there was a price
He lost his favorite girl

That girl meant the world to him
For her he would give his life
and with a simple thoughtless glitch
he lost his future wife

For days, no yhears, he mourned his loss
thinking only of her sile
He wished for one last chance to say
how much that he still loved her

Apparently his plea was heard
for the gods had just appeared
They said that they would help him
and in joy he shed a tear

They gave the full grown man his youth
then sent him back in time
to find the place he made his choice and
change it for his dime.

He searched so long and hard for that
huge old shady oak tree
but when he finally make it
theres a sight no man should see.

His baby is with another guy
laughing and smiling as if high
but the boy knows this euphoria
is natural, it's called love

The boy and his renewed youth
slinked methodically from the spot
where he and his eternal love
vowed to keep this as their plot

So now the boys heart is split
wide open, just like the "vow" he'd made.
A girl had stolen half from him and
he knew the situation did not fit.

The rest of his life he mourned his loss,
if only he'd been faster!
Maybe his baby would still love him if
he'd made the choice of his caring master.

A sweet tale, odd twist re the master at the end? lol a couple of typos but just goes to show that men, do learn, but far too often after the fact of no return. But then nothing is impossible. Thanks for the lift, Sad tonight Tai
