What I want
My mother asks me what I want for my birthdayI reply I don't know what I want today
My boyfriend asks me what I want for my birthday
I reply I don't know what I want today
My best friend asks me what I want for my birthday
I reply I don't know what I want today
My grandmother asks me what I want for my birthday
I reply I don't know what I want today
Then the Lord asks me what I want for my birthday
I bowel my head and say, "Dear Lord all I want is my pain taken away."
So I can enjoy one gleeful day
With my pain all taken away
