This is to gaze down the path leading to the Shrine of Bahá’u’lláh in Bahji, Israel!

Martyr's Path

Feels like an enormous presence right behind your back,
Gentle wind flows all around,
Crisscrossing shadows line the path,
Of red sacrifice to the world,
The sun is dying down, never out,
Warm embrace circles around the mind,
Ever so sweet fragrance fluttering in the air,
Shoots of old age and memories hidden deep,
Overshadow, bringing a delicate canopy overhead,
Safety, Protection, Reliance, Trust, flow upon the ground,
Mingle in the air, Rush through the trees, brush against the face,
Seep into your pores, elevate the spirit,
Finding the resting place in the quiet pulsation of the heart,
The eyes swim in velvet robes of love,
that flutter forth from the Qiblih of the world,
That travel down the path martyrs have laid,
Opening all senses,
Leaving no doors shut,
Only the heavenly image of the Almighty Falcon,
Standing guard on the fields of heaven.
