Both are to be mulled over with careful conviction. Something i wrote pretty quickly but comments and critique are appreciated.

Sentiments Like Aged Wine

Pitter Patter Pitter Patter Pitter Patter
Pitter Patter Pitter Patter Pitter Patter

A careful conviction which held such poise
Is shattered like the silence by a recurring noise.
I've thought over these emotions repeatedly,
But now the precious feelings have slipped my mind
And according to my clock so has the time.

So what is it now that has ensnared my attention;
Which is so adamant and has an unknown intention?

The sound of dull rain on a soft tin roof?
Perhaps it's simply my mind running aloof.
It'd be nice to know which it is, unfortunately
Dulling sentiments shade the seed of truth
And the reality is far beyond uncouth.
