My Brother

Why did you leave?
Why did you take ship
Upon the Sundering Sea
Unto the farthest shore?

Why did you leave me here
Upon this shore of sorrow?
Why did you leave this place
Before your time had come?

What is it like to see
The White Tower of light
Shining down to meet you
Upon that blessed land?

Tell me of the world
Beyond the dark grey veil,
Where thousands yet do wait
And all our souls must pass.

Why did you depart
To a place I am not
Allowed in life to go
And cannot follow you?

There now must exist
A chasm of so much greater time
Then was ever meant to be
'Til upon that shore, I see you.

Here my life lingers on
Until to meet you once again,
I depart this forgotten shore
And cross that widest sea.
