Just some thoughts . . .
As she turned you down
I could see it broke your heart
And hers
She dried her eyes as she told you how sorry she was
And
As you wouldn't receive her hand, she walked away
I
Was trying hard to find something to say to you
Could I have said something to help?
Somehow I'd been there
Too many times
To be naive enough to think that it could
Sometimes
There are no right answers
No manuals
What do you tell people
When they feel that life's not worth living?
Do your words help?
Or aggravate?
So I was just standing there
Struggling to find something to say
What were you thinking about me then?
I tried my best
I really did
Sometimes it seems that just isn't enough
But if humanity isn't enough
Then what is?

Struggle
I saw your tears come streaming down your faceAs she turned you down
I could see it broke your heart
And hers
She dried her eyes as she told you how sorry she was

As you wouldn't receive her hand, she walked away

Was trying hard to find something to say to you
