I will always remember the special visit I had as a 16 year old.
The Visit
Your visit will last me a lifetime
Will shape my destiny
Will clear my past
Will infect the present
Your visit chilled me
It thrilled me
And it willed me
To believe
Silently you rose above my bed
Like a cloud you formed
Over my head
You are from the distant dead
Grandmother
I did not know you in life
But you came to me
A mother, a wife
A child, a soul
Living on and on and on
Thought to thought
Mist to mist
Being to Being
Spirit to Spirit
Sing to me Grandmother
Breathe in me Grandmother
Stay with me Grandmother
Ever present, ever alive
ever being, you are
me, Grandmother
Look into my eyes and see
All that I am and hope to be
Grandmother
I am
We
