Why I smile

In sleep I no longer fear the coming dawn
My sleep is filled with wonderous dreams of you
I see you running free in fields of green clover
Over the dimpled ground

I watch you dance bare foot in the foamy surf
As the waves gently crash to the shore

I watch you resting quietly in the late day sun
Laying there like little child innocent and free

When I wake I no longer fear the coming day
I know you are out there and soon I will see you with
My waiting eyes and all will be right

You calm my soul and bring peace to me
I have prayed for many things that would ease my pain
That would bring a cheer to my heart
That would make everything alright

When I see you I know I needed only to ask for one thing
And that was you

You were the answer to all my prayers
I give thanks with every breath I take that I have you
Here, now.

So now I can truly smile
From the inside out

The scenes painted here are so clear and so beautiful. I love this.
