After reading some very sensitive poetry today, I am brought to this...

The Weight of A Tear

A single tear
Flows down my cheek
It holds the weight of the world
Inside this drop
Beats a heart of love
Opened and filled with rain
Loneliness
Grief
Sorrow
Despair
Help form this pearl of pain
As it flows down
It stains my face
With
Memories
Yearnings
And
Fears
It may come upon my soul
In a moment
But sometimes
It takes many years
It is the suffering
That causes me to cry
For those who live
Inside a hollow world
That holds for them
No tenderness
No hope
No help
No

You've locked my heart into a choking, hurting little thing now... But you know what? Thanks... I was lost, out of touch with feeling anything... Thanks for cutting through the layers of my exhaustion and anger, and replacing the negatives with gentle tears for humanity. I know I'm incoherent - but maybe, your river just overflowed its banks. Maybe, just maybe.

Yes Kathy. There are more people across the globe silently suffering more than what we could imagine. It seems the phylosophy 'Fill what is empty and empty what is filled' is no more valid.
Excellent piece!

words sounded like real tears here. compassion mixed with passion. so human and pure.

There is no time for tears-
only fears...
There is no chance to grieve-
only grief...
There is no semblance of pity-
only torture...
There no room for dignity-
only humiliation...
There no way to protest-
only bare up...
There no balm for healing-
only the pain, the helpless feeling!

Those who suffer go on suffering...

(((Hugs for that compassionate write, Kathy))))
Love, Zoya

hi there Katherine this is so true

often the tears wruoght by love unbridled come dry after a while
yet catch in the dry throat and churn the stomach if love unrequited it be

but in love reciprocated the tears flow with joy and the stomach becomes a rippling flight of butterflies

a beautiful poem well done rgds mike

very touching piece here, as tears show pain, they also bring joy to the ones who make them and the ones who dries them away!!!

This truely is a heart tugger. I just watched a tear provoking special about the secret lives of the orphaned, forgotten, street children in North Korea. This is so applicable to those lost little ones. They picked garbage off the muddy streets and ate it. When shoo'd away like vermin, their blank eyes held no tears, they just wandered off. This is perfect to describe that situation and how I felt.

Tears are a cleansing force in our lives Kathy.
Yes, it is those who cannot cry that we should feel pity.
Beautifully spoken sentiment.
