Skies of us
In a flash you were in my sights
Flying high across the nightsky
Like no other, on wings of Gold
A fiery flight, against stars
Nothing more beautiful in life
So proud, so vivid, so only YOU.
Then I shot you down, down, down
With leaden words, dark, hard
Spiralling, you hit the causes
And with impact you understood
My words, your leaping life
Why your wings had to fall.
Now I roam endlessly alone
Through these remembering skies
Ever dreaming, ever searching
Of the moment you will lift
Again in flaming splendour
Towards the starry skies of us.
