A recent conversation led to this examination of tender endearments that often exist if inappropriate
I Used To Write You Love Poems by M.A.Meddings
I used to write you love poems,
Didn't I?
But when
How strange
That I can hardly remember
It must have been a time,
When your eyes were filled
With a joy of me
And I of you.
May be
It was that time
When our words
Were spoken tenderly
And you
Could hardly bear to be without me,
That lost time,
Those faded memories,
When I used to write you love poems.
And if I do so again
As now I do
Will you disdain them
As the ramblings
Of a romantic heart
Or see them
For what they are
Inappropriate endearments
Yet tender and true
Words that
I hold so dear
For a time when your eyes
Were filled with the joy of me
And I of you
That last time
Before I rode away
That enchanted time
A time when
I used to write you love poems
