Curse of Christmas Cheer

One day alone, in cold frozen solstice
Allows weeds to live in beds of flowers.
Brings mixtures of seedlings many to list
And gives the art of kindness more powers.
We should be wilted, and dug by the roots
Allowing four seasons' morals blow by
Burglar. Thief of mankind, a name that suits
Those joyous days when the evergreens die.
So maybe you should think before you kill
You could shine for a celestial round
In your gardens, allow the weeds to fill
Weeds. Plants. Created equal in most towns
Everyday evergreens smile brightly.
Don't ever hold back, not even slightly.
