Tell Me True

Is it a feeling?
Is it a place?
Is it the smile
I see on your face?

Does it lift me up
Or does it bring me down?
Can it make me fly
Or perhaps lets me drown?

Will it be my death
Or my key to survival?
Maybe it's the pain
And the pill of revival.

Tell me, my friend.
Or is it my foe?
Should I hold to it tight
Or just let it go?

Is it the answer
And even the question?
Is it the path
And also the destination?

Is it here now
Or was it back then?
Is it the start
And possibly the end?

Must I smile if it happens
Or cry when it's gone?
Should I embrace it so
Or let it hurt another one?

If you don't know
Then at least tell me true:
Is love meant for me and for you?

well written poetry. It has a simplicity that reveals the complexity of allowing love to touch our hearts. Those questions are so very valid and universal. We never know until we experience each love relationship as it blooms. Happiness or sorrow may be standing at your hearts door knocking waiting to come in. It is a scary prospect. Will you answer the knock?

I really like your final stanza; repeating the "for" makes both for great syntax and for great meter!
