if we can keep bitterness at bay then sweetness may remain
"The sun became dark and its darkness lasted...The fruits did not ripen, and the wine tasted like sour grapes"- Simon Winchester
Whirlwind initiation
Then dropped straight in
With orders abounding,
Opinions flying low,
Disrespect.
Handled the sessions alone,
Organising, juggling
And insolence still.
So this day I was
greeted with arms wide open
Like I wasn't seen for years
But old rhythms soon
came back on track,
sideswipes swooping in,
Orders to go home
And I can't help but taste saltwater,
Feel a million things colliding
In the vast space under my skin
For I am not in that circle of laughter,
I am just redundant.
